MEET SPENCER

Spencer came to us as a patient a few years ago.  He won our hearts with his friendly, easy-going nature.  Spencer has a crooked ear as he has some scar tissue from previous ear hematoma surgery and he has always had a very strange gait.  His rear legs are "loose" in the hocks, but Spencer doesn't know it as he gets around just fine.  He was deeply loved by his family, but one child in the family developed allergies to him.  Spencer was living with other family and then developed Diabetes.  His situation did not make it possible for him to be able to receive his insulin injections, so very tough decisions were to be made for Spencer.  We had a tough time "putting Spencer down" so we have temporarily adopted him at Country View Animal Clinic.  Spencer is now a happy regulated diabetic.  He gets 2 insulin injections daily.  He takes a fairly expensive insulin (the cheaper options didn't work well for him).  His insulin costs are about $105 every 6-7 weeks.  He eats a good diabetic diet and loves it.  He gets along very well with both dogs and cats as well as children and adults.  He is known to give occasional love nips.  Spencer will give a lot of companionship to a family.  He is a very social animal and is about 8 years old.  We would love to find him a good permanent home.  Contact our clinic at (636) 274-0410 if you would be interested in taking Spencer into your home.
